Linkwater advised Ipswich Water of a main burst (500mm diameter central main) at 7:23 this morning near 530 Mount Crosby Rd, Brisbane.
This has resulted in low pressure at Australian Hardboard, residents on Bognuda St and the high level zone of Bundamba.
Water at Blackstone Reservoir had dropped to as low as 20% early this morning.
Upon notification from Linkwater, Ipswich Water crew was mobilised immediately and the valves at the northern side of Colleges Crossing have been shut.
This allowed Ipswich Water to back feed water from the Eastern Main to the Central Main through the Eastern/Central Connection.
Blackstone Reservoir's level has gone up since then and now it is now 33%.
At the moment there is still some water passing the shut valve and Ipswich Water is still on site trying to isolate a further set of valve on the southern side of the river.
This will allow a dryer pipe for Linkwater to work on.
