On the weekend of 12-15 June 2009, the Ipswich Motorway Upgrade: Wacol to Darra, will be replacing the current signalised roundabout at the Centenary Highway/Ipswich Motorway interchange with a temporary free-flowing system.
During the weekend, diversions for the interchange's right-hand movements will be in place so the new temporary ramps can be constructed and subsequently opened to traffic on Monday 15 June 2009 (by 5am).
Weekend diversions:
(a) Motorists travelling from the Centenary Highway southbound (from Brisbane) to the Ipswich Motorway westbound (towards Ipswich) will be diverted via Progress Road.
To ensure efficient traffic flow police control will be place on the intersection of Garden Road/Progress Road and Boundary Road/Progress Road.
Also, there will be two right-turn lanes in place for the traffic turning onto Progress Road (currently there is only one right-turn lane).
(b) Motorists travelling from Centenary Highway northbound (from Springfield) to the Ipswich Motorway eastbound (towards Brisbane) will be diverted via Sumners Road, Westcombe Street, Ashridge Road, Harcourt Road, then onto the Ipswich Motorway.
Motorists travelling on the Ipswich Motorway east to west (Brisbane to Ipswich) and west to east (Ipswich to Brisbane) and the Centenary Highway north to south (Brisbane to Springfield) and south to north (Springfield to Brisbane), will do so as usual.
