IT wasn't a good weekend for those hoping for a hard-fought round of Ipswich Rugby League.
Compared to the other two games, Swifts' 32-point win over Norths looked like a tight affair.
Brothers were too strong for the South Burnett Bushrangers, demolishing the visitors 62-18 at Brother Seery Park.
It was a similar story at Hayes Oval where Goodna thumped Fassifern 58-8.
Despite the one-sided scoreline, Goodna coach Anthony Fowler said it took his team almost a quarter of the match to get its act together, having played only twice in the past month together.
"It was just getting our combinations out," Fowler said of the reason behind the slow start.
When they did get their combinations sorted Fassifern had no answer.
The Eagles had seemingly been weakened by the injury induced absence of forwards Sione Piutau, Andy Piutau and Nick Schloss while Frank Matiu only played a minor role due to illness.
In their place however, Taetafa Tauaa, Alistair Tauaa and Jackson Solofa excelled while under-18 star back-rower Elijah Umu marked his senior debut with a try.
Fowler was pleased with his teams' defence and the manner in which they stuck to their match patterns late in the game, despite the score line blowing out.
One thing he wasn't happy with was their early attitude.
"Just our discipline in the first half," he said.
"We gave away silly penalties and late tackles."
The Bombers were struggling for depth, having to forfeit in reserve grade, and it showed on the scoreboard.
On the other side, Fowler was happy with his team's progression at this stage of the season.
"We're getting there," he said.
"The fitness is pretty good.
"It will be good to get a few games."
