- I totally agree Paul. Woolworths in Goodna shuts at 5pm on Saturdays, as do other metropolitan supermarkets in Brisbane & Ipswich, but Woolworths in Moree is open until 10pm. Friends & relatives from NSW & Victoria can't believe that supermarkets in Queensland shut so early on weekends - particularly Saturdays. How frustrating is it when you need something that is not sold at convenience stores on a Saturday evening when you have friends/family over for a BBQ or dinner. What makes it even more frustrating is fact that the closed supermarket is only a few minutes walk away.

And what about the family life and personal life of the people who work in the supermarkets? You're being ridiculously naive if you think it's not going to effect that, and even more naive if you think the big supermarkets give a damn about making provisions for their employees situations. Funnily enough, people managed to survive back in the day when supermarkets all closed at five EVERY day of the week. If you need something on a Saturday night, perhaps you should think about that PRIOR to the situation happening!
