Work is progressing on the new concrete footpath in Newman Street Gailes.
The new 1.5 metre pathway runs on the western side of Newman Street from Alice Street to Iris Street.
A separate footpath will be constructed as part of the same project on the northern side of Iris Street.
Traffic lights are due to be installed next financial year at the corner of Alice Street and Newman Street Gailes under the Federal Blackspot Program.
