Other shopping centres such as Redbank Plaza, Town Square Redbank Plains and Orion Springfield Central have expanded and been refurbished.
This will boost both commercial and community confidence in Goodna.
The site has been flooded twice in the past 63 years but better management of the Wivenhoe Dam and Somerset Dam by Seqwater should lessen the effect of future floods on the Brisbane River compared with 1974 and 2011.
Goodna is just 24km from the Brisbane GPO and 16 km to the Ipswich CBD and this redevelopment by Sydney-based Mintus Pty Ltd is both welcome and timely.
