ROUND two of the Ipswich Rugby League was a lopsided affair with heavyweights Swifts and Goodna racking up big wins.
Swifts thrashed South Burnett 70-30 at Llewellyn Motors Field.
The salvaging coming after Swifts trailed 20-10 at one stage and led just 22-20 at half-time.
"In the first 20 minutes we coughed up the pill a bit and gave away a few penalties," Swifts halfback Joel Lennon said.
"We just had to put our heads down a bit and do a bit of hard work. Our forwards were really good in the second half.
"It is just a matter of playing a few games together and getting a few combinations going."
Lennox gave credit to South Burnett, despite the final score.
"They put it to us," he said.
"We just came home over the top of them."
In the weekend's other game, Goodna overpowered Northern Suburbs at Richardson Park.
The Eagles, missing playmaker Craig Wehrman, won 58-0 after leading 42-0 at the break.
Wehrman was forced from the field early after copping a stray elbow in the mouth and losing several teeth.
"In the second half we sort of fell into a bit of touch footy but you can't really blame the boys," Goodna lock Corey Kirk said.
"The first half was good.
"We completed close to 90 percent of our sets.
"If we complete our sets the rest of our game will come together."
Kirk rated second-rower Frank Matiu and five-eighth Andrew Walker as his team's best, the former dominated the ruck area in attack and defence.
With Wehrman off the field Walker and Kirk had to take responsibility for leading the Goodna attack.
"Andrew came into his own," Kirk said.
"He's magic to play footy with."
