The cleanup of Woogaroo Creek adjacent to the Goodna Aquatic Centre on Brisbane Terrace is nearing completion.
The work is being undertaken by the Ipswich Rivers Improvement Trust.
Local Councillor Paul Tully who is the Deputy Chairman of the Trust said almost 500 metres of creek bank had been cleared of Chinese elms and weed undergrowth.
"Native trees are being planted as a replacement.
"This section of Woogaroo Creek is looking very good since the area was ravaged in the flood of 11 January," Cr Tully said.
