ABC News: Teens killed in smash near Brisbane

Two teenagers are dead and another is fighting for his life after a horror smash at Ipswich, west of Brisbane.

Police say a four-wheel drive slammed into into a small sedan at traffic lights in the suburb of Goodna about 11pm AEST yesterday.

There were four teenagers in the car and police say a 17-year-old woman and a 18-year-old man died at the scene.

A 17-year-old man was taken to hospital in a critical condition and another man was taken to Ipswich Hospital with head and chest injuries.

Senior sergeant Robbie Goodger says there were three people in the four-wheel drive who fled from the scene and one was caught nearby.

"We have located the driver of the four-wheel drive. He has currently been taken with minor injuries to the Ipswich Hospital and he will be interviewed in relation to the crash," he said.

Police are still searching for two women who were in the four-wheel drive.
