Oxley MP Bernie Ripoll
Federal Member for Oxley Bernie Ripoll said he was disappointed that government officers at any level had been criticised.
"It's easy to be critical," Mr Ripoll said.
"It's not fair to criticise the hard work that so many government workers put in during the flood crisis.
"That sort of thing is far from what I'm about.
"All of those people who know they worked hard would feel very disappointed at the comments that have been made by politicians lately."
Meanwhile State Member for Bundamba Jo Ann Miller has continued her attack on council in State Parliament.
During condolence motions on Tuesday, Ms Miller heaped praise on Ipswich City Council disaster management co-ordinator Trevor Nardi, but criticised the council's response to the flood at the same time.
"As we continue to grieve, there are many questions that remain unanswered that our community wants the flood inquiry to examine," she said.
"Why was there no warning? When were the authorities first alerted to the disaster and why weren't people told? Why were the flood maps not on the website?"
"How do we as a community know when to be on flood alert and who is responsible for this?"
"The community needs these answers so that they can move on.
"Let us as a community examine what happened and learn from it and never, ever become complacent again."
