Last month's flood wiped out the clubhouse, home ground and jersey stock of the Goodna Gladiators so completely they were struggling to see a start to their 2011 season.
Jaykob Hofenk's Under-10s were only equipped to play as "skins" until saviours arrived for tomorrow's half-time mini-rugby game at the Reds-Western Force Super Rugby clash.
Jersey manufacturers KooGa and the Queensland Rugby Union, through their Rugby Relief program, swept into play with a free set of jerseys yesterday.
"There's no nerves. I just want to play in the new jersey," Jaykob beamed after being presented with his fresh look by Reds ace Genia.
When Genia discovered Goodna's plight extended to being almost bereft of footballs, he promised to drive some of his own second-hand supply to Goodna for the kids.
"The rain has stopped but people still need a hand," said Genia, who is part of a Reds team which is donating tomorrow's match fees to flood relief.
"We want to stand up with a performance to show we are Queenslanders at a time like this."
