NUMEROUS friends and family members appeared in court yesterday in support of a man accused of murdering his flatmate at Redbank this week.
Shaun Patrick Flanagan, 33, is accused of stabbing Leeroy Johnson at Redbank on Tuesday night.
Flanagan was arrested and faced Ipswich Magistrates Court yesterday charged with murder.
Six members of his family and friends sat in the public gallery in support of Flanagan and cried and hugged each other afterwards.
None of the deceased's family or friends seemed to be in the court yesterday.
Flanagan, who wore a brown jumper and tracksuit pants, has not yet entered a plea to the charge.
Police were called to a house in Mine Street about midnight where they found a 30-year-old man with a wound to his upper body. He was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital but died about two hours later.
Police said Flanagan lived in the same house as the deceased.
Defence lawyer Matthew Fairclough did not apply for bail and the case will next be mentioned on April 6.
