director for Western corridor projects Mango Murphy at the
site of a newly completed section of the motorway upgrade.
USERS of the Warrego Highway take note – from tomorrow night there will be a new exit for the highway coming off the Ipswich Motorway in Riverview.
Motorists travelling westbound on the Ipswich Motorway will exit for the Warrego Highway from the right lane, instead of the left lane.
It will stay as a right lane exit for 14 months as work ramps up on the $1.95 billion Dinmore to Goodna motorway upgrade, which is due for completion in late 2012.
Access to Brisbane Road (Ipswich bound) and the Cunningham Highway exit will remain the same.
The upgrade's project director Mango Murphy said he expected most motorists will handle the change with no problems.
"Over the period of the project we've done similar changes and they have worked out fine. We have plenty of signs about warning people about the changes," he said.
"Our advice would be to just closely follow the signs."
He thanked motorists for their patience and co-operation during the works.
Subject to weather conditions, traffic on the Ipswich Motorway (Brisbane bound) will be realigned to the west of the Tessman Street Bridge, also at Riverview.
Federal Member for Blair Shayne Neumann and Bundamba MP Jo-Ann Miller said they were pleased to see how fast the upgrade was progressing.
