IPSWICH will again be in party mode this week
as the 11-day Ipswich Festival continues its vibrant program of fun and entertainment until this Sunday.

Seniors are invited to a free concert in the Ipswich Mall this Thursday, April 22.

Morning Melodies, from 9am to 11am, will showcase a line-up of entertainment including Elizabeth Rose, Mr Music, Magic Mal and the Ipswich City Council Seniors Concert Group.

Prizes will be on offer for the best-dressed party person and a birthday cake will be shared.

The Ipswich Festival celebrates the city's 150th birthday and acknowledges the pioneering families of the district.

Ipswich Events Corporation executive
chairman Paul Casos said on Sunday that he was "absolutely ecstatic" about the response to the festival this year.

"The crowds have been sensational," he said.

"We got off to a flying start on Thursday night at Fire on the River with 15,000 to 20,000 people coming along.

"The Mayor's Festival Ball was the largest we've had, with just under 500 attending."
