THIRTY jobs have been created in Ipswich thanks to a $14.5 million distribution facility at Carole Park.

Treasurer Andrew Fraser said he welcomed the decision by New Zealand aluminium manufacturer and exporters Ullrich Aluminium to build a new distribution centre factory in Carole Park.

"This centre will become the hub operations centre for the company's nine other facilities throughout Queensland," Mr Fraser said yesterday.

"It is a real coup for Queensland to have a company of this calibre set up new facilities and operations and we look forward to the company progressively including its administration, IT and R&D."

Ullrich Aluminium produces and supplies products for construction, marine, industrial, commercial, and domestic applications.

Mr Fraser said the company had an export base into PNG, Guam, Fiji, Hawaii and Asian Rim countries.
